What Happens During My Evaluation?

During your evaluation, a genetic counselor will record your family’s medical history.

He or she may also make arrangements to gather the medical records of other family members who have or have had cancer. The risk assessment and its implications for you and your family are discussed.

Cancer screening and cancer recommendations are provided and genetic testing may be offered.

Subsequent visits may be arranged based on your needs and your family’s needs.
