The Comprehensive Cancer Center’s radiation oncology services at Rhode Island Hospital include pioneering physicians, unique and sophisticated technology, and experienced staff.
Using an array of advanced technologies, the department of radiation oncology has a proven record of superior outcomes for patients who have been diagnosed with common and uncommon cancers of every type.
Ours is the only hospital-based radiation oncology program in the state. David Wazer, MD, an internationally recognized specialist in the treatment of breast cancer, leads the program, which is affiliated with The Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University. He is also a leading expert in the latest radiation therapies such as intensity modulated radiation therapy, high dose-rate brachytherapy and stereotactic radiosurgery. Under his guidance, the department remains at the forefront of innovation and research for the treatment of cancer.
