The Bradley Center
The Bradley Center is a 16-bed residence in Cranston that provides short-term intensive treatment for adolescents ages 12 to 17 who suffer from serious emotional and behavioral disturbances, substance use and associated problems, or co-occurring disorders and are in need of short-term stabilization, assessment and treatment for suicidal, aggressive or other unsafe behaviors.
The co-ed program is designed to be a step-down program from hospitalization or an alternative to a hospital stay. We are licensed by the Department of Children, Youth and Families and the Department of Behavioral Healthcare, Developmental Disabilities and Hospitals.
About the Bradley Center
Teens and the caregivers participating in the Bradley Center’s residential program receive comprehensive assessment and treatment aimed at stabilizing acute symptoms and promoting engagement in less intensive levels of care. Patients receive evidence-based care that includes cognitive behavioral therapy skills, motivation enhancement, and prevention planning.
Complementing formal therapy, expressive therapy such as art activities, dance and yoga is provided.
Our program is staffed by licensed master’s level clinicians, a psychiatrist, nurses and residential care counselors who work as a team to give residents and their caregivers treatment tailored to the unique needs of each child. We rely on parents being partners in their child’s treatment.
The program has two tracks for treatment. Our mental health short residential track provides short-term stabilization to help kids transition from hospital-level care to home, while continuing the family and individual therapy that is needed to create a safe and stable environment. Our program helps prevent adolescents from having to be hospitalized when they can instead be stabilized and transitioned safely back home or into their community. We provide motivational enhancement cognitive behavioral therapy and ensure appropriate transition to a lower level of care.
Our co-occurring disorders track provides short-term stabilization and residential treatment to adolescents who are struggling with substance abuse and mental health issues. We provide motivational enhancement cognitive behavioral therapy and ensure appropriate transition to help kids function within the community while receiving continued treatment through a lower level of care.
