Technology & Innovation
At the Vanderbilt Rehabilitation Center, we have invested in the most state-of-the-art rehabilitation equipment to incorporate technology into our patients' therapies. These new tools help us to track patients' progress, make exercises more fun and interactive, and ultimately result in better outcomes.
The EksoNR is a wearable robotic exoskeleton that helps physical rehabilitation patients learn to walk again.
Therapists can work with patients to play interactive games on iPads, helping with cognitive therapy and practice using devices they may be accustomed to using in their daily lives.
The GaitBetter treadmill system incorporates a television monitor to help patients improve walking while using virtual reality to simulate different terrain and obstacles to navigate.
The REAL y-Series virtual reality headset allows patients to immersive themselves in various real-life activities.
The Bioness Integrated Therapy System (BITS)
The Bioness Integrated Therapy System (BITS) is a large interactive touch screen that helps patients with cognitive therapy and added balance challenges.
The Synchrony technology helps speech therapists work with patients who are having difficulty swallowing, through fun and engaging speech and swallowing exercises.
