Neuroendocrinologic Disorders
We offer diagnosis and treatment of disorders related to the functions of the hypothalamus and pituitary gland, as well as for the endocrine effects of treatment for other disorders. Our approach is multidisciplinary, with coordinated care provided by a team that includes oncologists, hematologists, neurosurgeons, neurologists, geneticists and general surgeons.
Endocrinologic Disorders
We provide diagnosis and treatment of children with disorders of the thyroid, parathyroid, adrenal glands, gonads and endocrine pancreas.
Thyroid disorders include:
- hyperthyroidism
- hypothyroidism
- thyroid nodules
- thyroid cancer
Bone Disorders
We provide bone density testing and evaluation of children and adolescents with low bone density, history of fractures, and disorders of bone metabolism.
Conditions we treat include:
- metabolic bone disease
- osteogenesis imperfecta
- osteoporosis and osteopenia
- vitamin D deficiency
Growth and Development Disorders
We offer diagnosis and treatment for disorders in children’s growth or sexual development. Growth disorders can be due to insufficient production of growth hormone, preventing normal development. Puberty can be delayed or early, leading to differences in timing of sexual development.
We provide the full range of testing for endocrine disorders, including growth hormone and adrenocorticotropic hormone (ACTH) testing.
