Rick Devin
Rick creates what he calls “devinicals,” small, one-of-a-kind fabric sculptures, portraying animals as different roles or characters, complete with clothing, accessories, and props. He also creates paintings and multimedia projects, often using found objects.
“You’ve got to keep your sense of humor,” he said. “You’ve got to be able to still laugh about stuff.”
It is precisely this unique ability to see art in the objects – and animals – around us, and to find the humor in the realism of life that helped Rick through his fight against cancer.
