Sleep and Light Therapy for Perinatal Depression
Researchers at Lifespan are conducting a study looking at whether adding light therapy and a prescribed sleep schedule to usual treatment for depression can speed recovery and prevent postpartum depression.
You may be eligible if you are:
- A healthy pregnant woman age 18 to 45 years old with a current diagnosis of depression.
What can you expect?
- The study involves wearing a wrist activity monitor during the third trimester of pregnancy (weeks 28 to 40) and from two to 18 weeks postpartum.
- Participants will be randomly assigned to receive usual care or usual care plus treatment with light therapy and a prescribed sleep schedule.
Your participation is voluntary. Participants receive payment for their time and effort.
