Safe Sitter - Dr. Martin Luther King Community Center

The Community Health Institute and the Dr. Martin Luther King Community Center in Newport, RI are hosting a Safe Sitter training session from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Tuesday, November 5, 2024. 

The Safe Sitter curriculum is designed exclusively for young teens in grades six through eight, ages 11 to 14 years.

The course covers the following skills: 

  • Safety
  • Child care
  • CPR
  • First aid
  • Choking rescue 
  • Life and business

The Community Health Institute is nationally recognized as a Gold-level provider. Safe Sitter courses are instructor-led and interactive, with hands-on demonstrations and skills practice using soft-bodied dolls and medical manikins.
