Giving Society: Heroes for Hasbro
About Heroes for Hasbro
Heroes for Hasbro is a giving society that recognizes donors who make an annual gift of $250 or more to Hasbro Children’s Hospital. Donors can direct their support to one of our top four funding needs: Child Life Services, the Healing Arts Program, the Medical-Legal Partnership or the area of greatest need. Gifts to these priority areas impact everyone who enters our doors and have the power to transform lives.
At Hasbro Children’s Hospital, we see how even a seemingly simple act makes a significant difference in a child’s life. To a child, the person who makes the pain go away is a hero. To our caregivers, our courageous patients and their families are the heroes. And to us, the donors that make all of this possible with their generous support are heroes, too
That’s why we created Heroes for Hasbro, a giving society that recognizes donors who make an annual gift of $250 or more to Hasbro Children’s Hospital.
Through Heroes for Hasbro, donors can direct their support to one of our top four funding needs: Child Life Services, the Healing Arts Program, The Adolescent Leadership Council (TALC), the Parent Consultant, or the area of greatest need. Gifts to these priority areas impact everyone who enters our doors and can truly transform lives.
We rely on the generous support from individuals like you who donate to Hasbro Children’s Hospital to ensure that injured and sick children get the best possible medical care in an environment that supports and nurtures the whole child and family. When you join Heroes for Hasbro, you are making a difference in the lives of the patients and families we serve and protect.

Areas of Support
Area of Greatest Need: By giving to the area of greatest need, your unrestricted gift is instrumental in helping us provide the high quality, family–and patient–centered care that our patients have come to expect, while allowing us to react quickly to the changing needs of healthcare.
Child Life Services: Imagine what it’s like to be a child rushed to the emergency department after a car crash or a child with severe stomach pain and high fever who is admitted to the hospital. You don’t understand what is happening or why you are there. Then someone comes in and talks with you, not at you. They have time for games and songs and distracts you from the pain. And, they explain what’s going on—in a way that makes sense. That hero is a child life specialist.
Healing Arts Program: Creativity and imagination are important parts of a child’s life—and a child’s overall health. In fact, there is clear evidence physical health is integrally linked to emotional and spiritual well-being and that the arts can play a critical role in the healing process. Our Healing Arts Program offers a full range of visual arts, music literacy, and performance programs to comfort and aid in a patient’s recovery.
The Adolescent Leadership Council (TALC): Living with a chronic illness can be a frightening, alienating and confusing experience, perhaps particularly so when combined with the already existing challenges of young adulthood. Since 2005 TALC has been providing a forum for adolescents living with diseases such as asthma, diabetes, lupus, cancer and sickle cell anemia to come together with students from local colleges who are also chronically ill.
Parent Consultant Program: Parent Consultants are parents or family members of a child who has been in an Early Intervention program. Parent Consultants are experienced in navigating the service delivery system in Rhode Island. They use their knowledge and training to educate and assist families in accessing community resources, communicating more effectively with school personnel and health providers, and connecting with other families with similar circumstances.
