Making Connections
Patients at Bradley Hospital come from many different places and backgrounds. The food they like to eat, and that reminds them of home, is just as varied.
Food for the Soul
Ayelet Kantor, PhD, RD, discusses how she and others at Bradley Hospital helped a young patient open up by cooking a special meal.
We believe in the importance of establishing a personal connection between the food and nutrition team and patients with special nutritional needs. This way, our team becomes familiar with these patients’ preferences, restrictions and habits.
With requests coming from patients of various cultures, we seek to prepare a variety of ingredients and cuisines that will provide a nutritionally balanced diet, but will also remind our patients of something familiar and close to home. In this way, we strive to ensure that during their stay at Bradley, all patients are not just healthy, but feel welcomed as well.
