Visitation Guidelines at Hasbro Children's Hospital
As always at Hasbro Children’s Hospital, patient caregivers (parents, guardians, medical-decision makers) are part of the healthcare team and are not considered visitors.
Masks are required during patient care. Visitors are required to wear a mask inside the patient room (at our hospitals) and exam room (in our medical offices) while the patient is receiving care/treatment.
Visitation Policy at Hasbro Children's Hospital
- Two (2) patient caregivers will be permitted for the patient’s entire hospitalization, and can be at the bedside at any time. Caregivers include parents, guardians, or other medical decision-makers (approved at the discretion of the care team). They will be identified at admission.
- Visiting hours are 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. for adults over 18. Only two (2) adults at a time will be allowed at the bedside.
- Family visiting hours are 4 to 6 p.m. Visitors under age 18 may visit during these designated hours, up to a maximum of four visitors under 18 with up to two adults at the bedside. Visitors under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult at all times.
- Pre- and post-operative areas: A total of two patient caregivers (must be 18 years old or older) will be permitted to stay with the child. Only one caregiver at a time will be permitted to remain with their child in the pre-operative area and recovery room. This includes the post-anesthesia care unit (PACU). The two caregivers may stay together in the waiting room.
Please wash or sanitize your hands before entering the hospital, before/after eating, using the assigned restroom, and upon exiting and entering the patient’s room.
Please note: If a caregiver/visitor has symptoms of a communicable illness, they may not be allowed to enter the hospital. Caregivers and visitors may be required to wear masks, at the discretion of the care team.
