Patient and Family Centered Care at Hasbro Children's Hospital
Safety Is Our Top Priority
Hasbro Children’s Hospital is a safe place to receive care, whether through a regular visit with your pediatric primary care doctor, a specialist, or even in the event of an emergency. We are committed to providing children and their families with the best, safest care possible.
Welcome to Hasbro Children's Hospital
For information about your stay, please watch our welcome video.
Our nurses, physicians and staff understand how stressful the hospitalization of a child can be, and we are here to support your family in every way possible.
Our medical expertise is profound, but we also know that you are the real expert when it comes to your child. We will partner with you to ensure that your child receives excellent care, and that you and the rest of your family are comfortable, informed and included in all facets of your child’s experience.
For your convenience, we offer a variety of accommodations, including a cafeteria, coffee shop, gift shop, and more.
For entertainment and information to help ease your stay, the Get Well Network system in your child’s room provides access to practical health and hospital information.
Each patient room has a chair/couch that converts to a bed, if you wish to remain with your child 24 hours a day. You may also choose to stay in the nearby Ronald McDonald House of Providence; if your stay will be an extended one, please ask your social worker for a referral.
Family Advisory Council
Our multidisciplinary patient and family centered care steering committee includes representatives from several hospital departments, as well as Family Advocates. Family advocates are the parents of children who are or had been in treatment at Hasbro Children's Hospital.
The steering committee meets quarterly to address any relevant practice and policy issues at all levels of the system.

Patient and Family Centered Care Rounds
Patient and family centered care rounds provide an opportunity for health care team members, patients and parents to partner on a daily basis on treatment decisions. The focus of these inquiry rounds is to discuss the patient’s medical status, the goals of hospitalization and the criteria for discharge.
