Amy J. Palmisciano, RN is the clinical supervisor at the Lifespan ClinTech Center at Rhode Island Hospital. A 1996 graduate of the nursing program at Rhode Island College, Palmisciano has held several positions during her 28 years at Rhode Island Hospital. These include positions in such clinical areas as general medicine, pulmonary, dialysis and critical care medicine.
Palmisciano has over 18 years of research experience at Lifespan and has served on the Institutional Review Board for 14 years. In 2021, Palmisciano was appointed as associate chair of IRB 1. Her research experience includes managing a research program for multiple principal investigators in several specialty and sub-specialty areas, where she coordinated industry-sponsored investigational new drug, investigational device exemption, and US Food and Drug Administration 510K pre-market clinical trials, several biobank studies, quality improvement projects, investigator-initiated IND trials, and federal grants.
She has functioned as a co-investigator on observational studies, randomized controlled trials, retrospective chart review studies and quality initiative studies that have been accepted as poster presentations at professional conferences and published in medical journals.
