L.G. Ward, PhD, earned a doctor of philosophy degree in clinical psychology from the University of Massachusetts, Boston and completed a clinical internship at The Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University. Dr. Ward is currently a postdoctoral research fellow working in the Department of Psychiatry and Human Behavior of The Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University and the Center for Preventive and Behavioral Medicine at The Miriam Hospital. She completed her postdoctoral clinical training in integrated behavioral health at Lifespan Physician Group, Obstetrics and Gynecology and has joined the Center for Behavioral and Preventive Medicine and the Women's Medicine Collaborative as a research scientist.
Dr. Ward’s program of research focuses on the effects of stress, trauma, and sexual violence on perinatal health as well as strategies to reduce risk and promote well-being during the perinatal period, including trauma-informed obstetric care.
