Alison Goldblatt, PhD

Alison Goldblatt, PhD, is a clinical psychologist with Lifespan’s Family Therapy Program, working with patients at the East Providence location.

Dr. Goldblatt has experience providing person-centered, culturally informed psychotherapy to individuals of all ages with various behavioral health concerns She has a particular clinical and research interest in intersectional LGBTQ+ mental health and supporting wellness in the context of minority stress.

She earned a doctorate degree in clinical psychology from the University of Massachusetts Boston, where her training emphasized incorporating social justice practices into psychotherapy and research. Upon completion of her academic training, she pursued an LGBTQ+ fellowship with the VA Bedford Healthcare System where she provided individual, group, and couples therapy for adult veterans of all ages in outpatient and residential settings. She had previously completed her pre-doctoral internship in clinical psychology at VA Bedford in the addiction and recovery track.

As a research therapist at The Fenway Institute, Dr. Goldblatt provided care to HIV-negative sexual minority men at high risk for HIV acquisition, with a focus on decreasing problematic substance use and increasing safer sex practices. Her training included providing care at the Brookline Community Mental Health Center to children, adolescents, and adults with a variety of behavioral health concerns, and providing care to college students at the University of Massachusetts Boston Counseling Center.
