Brian G. Abbott, MD, is associate chief of cardiology, clinical excellence and operations at the Lifespan Cardiovascular Institute and a professor of medicine, clinician educator at The Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University. His research interests include cardiac imaging and medical education.

Abbott received his medical degree from the University of Florida College of Medicine in Gainesville, Florida. He completed his residency in internal medicine at Yale-New Haven Hospital and a fellowship in cardiovascular diseases at Yale University School of Medicine in New Haven, Connecticut. He is a fellow of the American College of Cardiology, the American Heart Association, and served as president of the American Society of Nuclear Cardiology in 2016. He is board certified in cardiovascular diseases, nuclear cardiology and echocardiography.
