Douglas M. Burtt, MD, is a cardiologist at the Cardiovascular Institute, with expertise in consultative cardiology and invasive/interventional catheterization. He is also an assistant professor of medicine (clinical) in the department of medicine at The Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University, where he serves as course director for the cardiac physiology and pathophysiology courses.

Burtt received his medical degree from New York University School of Medicine in New York, New York, and completed his residency at Roger Williams General Hospital and Brown Medical School in Providence, Rhode Island. He completed a fellowship in cardiovascular diseases at the University of Massachusetts Medical Center in Worcester, Massachusetts. He is an associate fellow of the American College of Physicians and a member of the Rhode Island Medical Society. He is board certified in internal medicine, cardiovascular disease and interventional cardiology.
