Michela Muggeo, PsyD is an experienced clinical psychologist whose specialties include anxiety and mood disorders, behavioral issues related to medical problems, post-traumatic stress disorder, and child and adolescent psychology. She has presented at conferences across the country and collaborated on psychological research published in academic journals. She sees patients at Jamestown Family Practice through the integrated behavioral health initiative for placement of psychiatric services in the primary care setting.
She worked as a psychologist in Italy before joining the University of Connecticut’s psychiatry department as a postdoctoral research fellow. Dr. Muggeo then practiced as a clinical psychologist at Clarus Health Alliance in Norwich, Connecticut.
She earned a doctoral degree in psychology from the School of Cognitive-Behavioral Psychotherapy and Research and a master’s degree in clinical psychology from Catholic University of Sacred Heart, both in Milan, Italy.
Dr. Muggeo is fluent in English and Italian.
